The Philosophy of Praising Wood

From the secret of nature to the warmth of the home

Each Veta & Lux lamp is not manufactured; it is listened to and released. We follow an honest, unhurried process that is deeply respectful of the cycles of time.

Phase 01 // The Origin

The Ethical Discovery

Our raw material does not come from commercial logging. We look for pieces with history: driftwood sculpted by the sea salt on the coast or fallen branches in ancient forests from controlled and fully legal pruning.

We seek woods that have already lived, paying special attention to their knots and scars. The video evokes the natural environment where each story is born.

Curado

Phase 02 // Time

Lethargy and Curing

Living wood retains moisture and tension. Upon arrival at the workshop, each piece begins a period of absolute rest that can last for months in our space.

They stabilize naturally, allowing the fiber to settle. It is an exercise in patience where we determine if the structure is fit to hold light and endure for generations.

Saneado

Phase 03 // Respect

Sanitation and Sculpture

We remove the weakened parts manually using planes and gouges, strictly respecting the healthy bark, textures, and stable cracks that give character to the piece.

We treat the wood using non-invasive techniques and apply texturized organic oils by hand up to a 1000 grain, nourishing the pore without hiding the pure, marble-like feel of the wood.

Phase 04 // The Union

Lighting Architecture

A premium lamp requires impeccable electronics. We design hidden internal channels down to the millimeter so as not to alter the organic aesthetics of the log.

We exclusively use cables with subtle natural linen or textile cotton sheaths, solid brass lamp holders, and electrical systems that comply with the strictest European safety standards.
